Indonesia Repatriates Global Sumud Flotilla Volunteers
Summary
On 24 May 2026, nine Indonesian volunteers from the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission safely returned to Jakarta. They were detained by the Israeli military on 18 May and released on 21 May following intensive diplomatic efforts. Foreign Minister Sugiono welcomed them, thanking the Government of Turkey for facilitating the release and condemning Israel's interception of the humanitarian vessel.
