Foreign policy in Indonesia is not determined by a single entity. While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the primary executor of diplomacy, the actual architecture of decision making is highly distributed. The President holds the ultimate constitutional prerogative to dictate foreign relations. However, the execution and oversight of these policies involve special envoys, coordinating ministries, ministries, specialized directorates, and the legislative mandate of Indonesia's House of Representative (DPR) Commission I.​ ​In this page, we simply try to map who really does Indonesia's foreign policy, who holds the authority, who executes the strategy, and who exercises oversight.​​
